Portrait of Allyson (2011), a large watercolour, was selected for the Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition, 2011, and was awarded the Ross’s Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers Watercolour Prize.

This portrait was completed during a six-month studio residency from April to September 2011, at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin.

This afforded the chance to embark on a project of new portraits from life, following a successful retrospective exhibition of 30 years of portrait works at the Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise in February 2011.
